New Poll: Socialism Viewed Favorably by Millennials

In a recent survey, conducted by the Victims of Communism, shocking results found that a vast majority of young Americans support socialism. Out of the 2,100 people polled, 70 percent of millennials are likely to vote socialist and one-third view communism as “favorable”—increasing by eight percentage points since 2018.

Moreover, 66 percent of all respondents cannot accurately define socialism.

In the organization’s fourth Annual Report on US Attitudes Toward Socialism, Communism, and Collectivism, socialism and communism enjoy growing support among millennials. The organization conducts this report to understand how Americans over the age of 16 view other political systems.

While the popularity of socialist ideas are in decline for other generations, it’s concerning that millennials fail to understand the devastating dangers this ideology poses. Learn more about the dangers of socialism here.
