Consumer sentiment at highest level in 15 years

Consumer sentiment rose sharply this month, placing the economic indicator at its highest level in 15 years. This actually blew past the predictions by economists who forecasted a drop in the sentiment score.

Though not yet at a record high, the overall trend is promising. Furthermore, the number has now made a full recovery from a brief drop that began in late 2018.

The good news is that the economy is booming and people are noticing. Consumers are feeling more empowered and more secure than they have at any point since 2004.

By keeping to free market principles, our country can continue to make this economy stronger. That’s a goal Americans must be vigilant about as the state of the economy impacts each and every American. In order to have more good news down the road, our legislators and the wider public must take note of policies like deregulation and tax cuts—measures that have been essential stepping stones to the prosperity we Americans are experiencing today.
